1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences, maintain sessions, and understand usage patterns. We also use browser local storage for consent records when cookies are blocked or unavailable. Local storage entries persist until you clear site data.

Similar technologies include session identifiers stored in cookies and anonymised analytics tokens. This policy covers all such storage used on the portal.

2. Cookie categories we use

Essential cookies

Required for the portal to function. Includes consent storage (cookie name: sg_portal_consent_v17) so we remember your cookie choice across visits. A local storage mirror (cookie_consent_v1) provides redundancy if cookies are cleared partially. Essential cookies cannot be disabled while using the site because the portal needs to record that you have made a consent choice.

Functional cookies

Enable embedded Google Maps on location pages. Maps are blocked by default until you accept functional cookies via the banner, save custom preferences with functional enabled, or click “Load map” on a placeholder (which enables functional consent for maps only). Google may set additional cookies when a map loads; see Google’s privacy policy for detail.

Analytics cookies

Optional anonymised measurement of page views, navigation paths, and aggregate device types. We use analytics only to improve portal structure and readability — not for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site profiling. Analytics is disabled by default and activates only after explicit consent.

3. How to manage preferences

On first visit, the cookie banner at the bottom of every page offers three choices:

• Accept all — enables essential, functional, and analytics cookies.
• Reject all — enables essential only; maps remain blocked.
• Customise — opens a panel with toggle switches for each category.

The customise panel uses button toggles with role=“switch” — not form inputs. Essential remains locked on. Save preferences applies your choices; Cancel closes the panel without saving new changes unless you already have stored consent.

5. Browser and device controls

You may block or delete cookies via browser settings. Common browsers provide privacy panels listing stored cookies per site. Blocking essential cookies may prevent consent storage and require the banner on each visit. Blocking functional cookies prevents map embeds from loading even if you click Load map — you would need to adjust browser settings separately.

Mobile devices may offer additional tracking controls in system settings. Consult your device manufacturer documentation for details.

6. Do Not Track

We do not respond to Do Not Track browser signals because no uniform standard exists. Optional analytics remains off unless you consent via our banner regardless of DNT settings.

9. How your choice is remembered

When you save preferences, your choices are stored in a small consent record on your device — essential cookies always remain on; functional and analytics follow what you selected. This record lets the site hide the banner on later visits and controls whether map embeds load. We do not create a separate server-side account for consent alone.

10. Third-party embed behaviour

Google Maps iframes load only when functional consent is granted or when you click Load map on a placeholder. Until then, the iframe has no src attribute and a visible placeholder shows the office address. This approach minimises third-party contact until you choose otherwise.

11. Interaction with Privacy policy

Cookie data that identifies you indirectly may constitute personal data under the PDPA. Our Privacy policy describes how we handle such data, retention periods, and your rights. Cookie consent choices are stored as described in both policies.

12. Retention of consent records

Consent records persist for one hundred eighty days unless you clear cookies sooner. After expiry, the banner reappears and prior choices are not assumed. We do not infer consent from continued browsing after expiry — you must actively choose again.

We do not use cookie walls that block portal access entirely for refusing optional cookies. Essential operation remains available with maps and analytics disabled until you opt in.

13. Changes to cookie practices

We update this policy when cookie practices change — for example, if we add a new optional category or change analytics provider. Material changes are noted with a revised date on this page. Where new non-essential categories are introduced, we request renewed consent via the banner.

Previous consent versions remain honoured until expiry unless a material change requires re-consent. You may always withdraw consent via the manage button below or by clearing site data in your browser.
